J Vineyards California Sparkling - Typically £25-30, found on Amazon £9.99
A blend of the typical Champagne grapes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, aged for two years. The grapes are from all over California; 54% Sonoma County / 30% Monterey central coast / 11% Mendocino north coast (north of Sonoma).On the nose pineapple and orange blossom with a fresh palate of pear, honeysuckle, mandarin peel and marzipan with a zesty finish
The kind of wine that makes you shout 'Michael' 118 times in the space of two hours.
Nettie Viognier, California - £13.00 / £11.00 Majestic Wines
Viognier, full bodied and aromatic, just like me but this is named after Nettie Valear who planted an acorn on the site, in memory of Abraham Lincoln, now a majestic oak some 200 years old. A floral nose with notes of pear, apricot, honey and peach on the palate. 14% so deceptively potent.
Goes great with Asian food (maybe worms in a box) , blue cheese, or Vampire Huntin’!
Burlesque White Zinfandel, Lodi, California - Frazier's Wine Merchants £7.95 or Online
100% zinfandel grapes, lightly crushed to create a pretty pink wine. Strawberries and ice cream on the nose, bright berry fruits on the palate with an off dry finish.
'America's Grape' or at least that's what they thought ..
The Americans call it Zinfandel and the Italians call it Primitivo, either way this is a radically bold wine, incredible value and one of the night's favourites.
Copper Mountain Pinot Noir - M&S / Ocado £9.00
The powerful sunshine in California results in lush wines made from Pinot Noir compared to many of their European counterparts. The Delicato family are able to source perfectly ripened grapes to make this flavoursome style, ageing with French and American oak for extra richness. Black cherry, strawberry, plum and on the nose, luscious on the palate with medium body and soft tannins. Great with roast pork, grilled salmon.
I could drink this on it's own, with friends or in the bath with some pork chops!
'Man with an Ax' Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi, California - £12.99 Online
This Bordeaux grape is the most widely planted in the world, but nobody makes Cabernet like they do in California. Blackcurrant, wild berry and sweet vanilla on the nose, juicy rich cassis and black cherry fruit on the palate, deliciously framed by American oak spice.
Think we might need that man with an Axe!

Trey's 'Lost Boys Trivia'
Some highlights from last night's trivia along with some new ones that would've been spoilers last night. You're welcome!
1) They say that someone says 'Michael' 118 times .. you can count them here
2) Santa Cruz, where Santa Carla takes place, was once plagued with the reputation of being "The Murder Capital Of The World" because of a series of very brutal murders by three different very disturbed men in the early '70s. Because of John Linley Frazier, Herbert Mullin and Edmund Kemper, Santa Cruz endured 28 murders over a 30 month period between 1970 and 1973.
3) Both the bandstand that the band is playing on the first time Michael sees Star and the Frog Brothers comic book shop were destroyed in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.
4) This is the second movie Corey Feldman starred in with Keifer Sutherland where Feldman was the hero and Sutherland was the villain. These movies were filmed back to back in 1986 and 1987; they were Stand By Me and Lost Boys.
5) Corey Haim and Corey Feldman would go on to feature in nine movies together and several tv shows.
6) The merry-go-round sequence foreshadows the order in which the Lost Boys die. Marko dies first, Paul second, Dwayne third and David last. In another clue for what happens later, Edgar Frog states that "when a vampire bites it, it's never a pretty sight. Some yell and scream, some go quietly. Some explode, some implode, but all will try to take you with them." All the vampires follow these four deaths exactly. Marko when staked by Edgar screams as he dies, Paul dissolves in a bathtub of holy water causing the plumbing in the house to implode on itself, Dwayne and Max blow up and David dies very quietly and with minimal struggle.
7) David is impaled on a pair of antlers and doesn't disintegrate like the other vampires. Despite what Max later says, he is not really dead. This was intended to be picked up in the sequel, "The Lost Girls", which was scripted but never made.
Despite The Lost Girls never seeing the light of day, there were not one, but two sequels to The Lost Boys that were produced.
2008’s The Lost Boys: The Tribe and 2010’s The Lost Boys: The Thirst were both released direct-to-DVD and both saw Corey Feldman reprise his role as Edgar Frog, with the latter featuring Jamison Newlander back as Alan Frog. Both movies have a 'zero' Rotten Tomatoes score.
8) Possibly the most '80s thing about the movie, especially the opening scene, is the beach concert. Led by an oily, muscly, chain-wearing saxophonist, the concert simply looks wild.
The sax man in question is Tim Cappello, a multi-instrumentalist who spent much of the '80s and '90s in Tina Turner’s band.
9) Executive producer Richard Donner was initially slotted to direct The Lost Boys before pulling out of the project to work on Lethal Weapon. Before turning the movie over to eventual director Joel Schumacher, Donner and screenwriters Janice Fischer and James Jeremias had originally planned for a script based on the idea that Peter Pan was a vampire.
The film was meant to be a much more family-friendly one, with many familiar with the original script comparing it to action-adventure movies like The Goonies. The vampires were all meant to be teens led by a Peter Pan style leader and the Frog Brothers were visioned as two chubby Boy Scouts. When Joel Schumacher began to oversee the movie, he flipped the script into the darker, more PG-13 style movie we all know and love.
Not all of Richard Donner’s ideas were abandoned, however. The most obvious is the title itself, The Lost Boys; a direct reference to Peter Pan’s group of fellow adventurers.
10) The maggots in Michael's box of rice looked just like grains of rice. The crew on set had to douse them in lemon juice to get them moving.
