Hey you guys!! It's The Goonies with Wine at The Mockingbird

Updated: 2 days ago

Thank you for joining us on a trip down memory lane, memory lane in Astoria, Oregon for The Goonies for Wine. As promised, please find details below on our treasured wines, our Goonies trivia and of course our Goonies Gallery.

Ahoy there Goonies, our bounty of delicious wines:

Lone Birch Yakima Valley Riesling, Washington State – The Wine Society £12.50

The fourth-generation of the Miller family make this zingy Riesling with ripe apple and peach aromas, and just a touch of sweetness to balance the refreshing acidity. With lemon sherbet character on the palate, this is light, bright and delicious, just like Brandon.

Nettie Viognier California - Majestic £13.50 or £11.50 mixed six

Viognier, full bodied, aromatic. Named after Nettie Valear who planted an acorn on the site in memory of Abraham Lincoln, now a majestic oak some 200 years old.

The nose delivers notes of pear, apricot, flowers, honey and peach on the palate.

La Cerisa Rosa Pinot Grigio Rosé, North West Italy - Waitrose £9.50

Ma Fratelli brings her own wine to the party and here it is, from Lombardy, a drop of Pinot Grigio with a touch of Pinot Nero and Barbera from the old country. Ripe berries and cherry fruit abound. Cheers Mamma.

Mark West Pinot Noir, Sonoma, California - Ocado £13.00

One of our favourites, juicy, sun kissed Pinot Noir from California. Mark West has been making Pinot Noir and nothing else in Sonoma since 1978. Aromas of black cherry, strawberry and plum. Medium in body with soft, juicy tannins.

Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon, Lodi, California - Waitrose £11.50

Wine maker Beth Liston produces this bold and juicy Cab Sav from California's central valley, bursting with flavours of plum, dark berries and chocolate, making a perfect pairing for treasure .. chocolate coins!
