The nights are drawing in, the lights are twinkling, and the mulled spices are in the air … which can only mean one thing: it’s time for Christmas Movies with Wine.
This December, The Wine Events Company is unwrapping a glittering line-up of festive favourites – from rom-com classics to action-packed adventures, heart-warming tales and toe-tapping musicals – each paired with five fantastic wines to sip along the way.
As always, these are proper wine tasting experiences with a twist. We’ll be pausing the movie at just the right moments to pour your next glass of themed wine and share some festive fun, trivia and immersive high jinx.

💖 Love Actually with Wine
📍 The Mockingbird Cinema, Digbeth
Join wine geek Tony Elvin as we present Richard Curtis’s modern Christmas classic, Love Actually, alongside a festive wine tasting of five wines. Nine intertwining stories of romance, heartbreak and joy remind us of the one thing that unites us all: love. From Hugh Grant’s dancing prime minister to Alan Rickman’s conflicted husband, every glass poured will match the highs and lows of the season.
💥 Die Hard with Wine
📍 The Hub at St Mary’s, Lichfield
Yippee-ki-yay! Celebrate Christmas at the Nakatomi Plaza … sorry, The Hub … with the ultimate Christmas movie. This action-packed screening starts with a glass of festive fizz before moving onto four more seasonal wines, all paired with Bruce Willis’s skyscraper showdown. Explosions, bad guys, Christmas miracles – what could possibly go wrong?
🎅 Elf with Wine
📍 The Mockingbird Cinema, Digbeth
The elves have taken over The Mockingbird and they’re pouring wine! Join Tony Elfin and the team for five delicious festive wines, cheeky banter, movie trivia and plenty of in-jokes served alongside Will Ferrell’s Elf. Buddy’s quest to find his dad in New York is pure Christmas chaos, and we’ll be matching the energy with wines full of joy.
🏡 The Holiday with Wine
📍 The Crescent Theatre, Brindley Place
Heartbreak, house swaps, and holiday romance – The Holiday is a modern festive favourite that deserves a glass (or five). Travel from Surrey to Los Angeles with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Jack Black as we pair each chapter of this love story with wines full of warmth, sparkle and festive cheer.
✨ It’s a Wonderful Life with Wine

Hee-Haw!! No Christmas is complete without Frank Capra’s timeless classic. Join us for an enchanting evening as an angel shows George Bailey what life would have been like if he’d never been born. Between the tears and the triumph, we’ll pause to pour you five festive wines that will make your heart (and glass) overflow.
❄️ White Christmas with Wine
Make your Christmas merry and bright with this quintessential holiday musical. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye light up the screen with song, dance, romance and snow – and we’ll be topping up your glass with five yuletide wines, starting with a festive fizz. Expect laughter, nostalgia and maybe even a singalong. We’ll make all your Christmases white, with a splash of red too.
