In this blog we explore some of the most popular tipples from our 'movies with wine' that are perfect for the Summer.

Hot Fizz
The most popular wine among five sparkling wines poured at our Four Weddings and a Funeral event was the Kingscote English Sparkling. Unlike 95% of all English Sparkling, this is made using the charmat method, just like Prosecco but made using superior Champagne grapes; 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. Kingscote produce a fine and elegant sparkling wine offering fresh, yet subtle aromas of citrus fruits.
This is incredible value at just £10 a bottle. A traditional method French sparkling wine made from 25 year old Bordeaux vines, using local grape varieties 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Semillon. On the palate, a crispness of fresh apples with notes of brioche. At this price, a fantastic option for parties and barbeques.
Cava gets an underservingly bad rap but this gold medal winning Cava is inspired by nearby Barcelona's vibrant mosaic art. Aged for 18 months for depth and complexity, this wine offers notes of crisp apple, ripe pear and brioche. One of Majestic's most popular sparkling wines with a 97% approval rating.

Pretty in Pink
Our most popular 'movie with wine' rosé and one that will be featuring very soon for our Mamma Mia 2 with Wine event. One of the very last wineries in Provence to pick their grapes by hand, they’re also one of only 18 to be designated Cru Classé – the best of the best. It’s fresh and juicy, with white peach and grapefruit flavours.
Provence-style wine from the wine region next door, which gives you a bit more bang for your buck. This was popular at our Mamma Mia with Wine event. Lively, fresh and thirst-quenching, La Croix is one to sip with seafood, fresh summer salads or a warm garden.
Zorgvliet means no worries in South African. This small winery between Stellenbosch and Franschoek has been making wine since 1799. A blend of Sauv Blanc, Cab Franc and Semillion – all Bordeaux Grapes. Pale salmon colour, crunchy cherry fruit. Good weight, with a dry finish and the most popular wine at our Valentines Barbie event.

Do The White Thing
This one was from along the route of the Orient Express for our Murder on the Orient Express event. Citrus and white pepper on the nose. Crisp, aromatic pear with white pepper notes on the palate with a racy minerality that makes it the perfect foil for a hot sunny day.
On the nose, you get crisp apple, juicy pear, and a squeeze of lime, with that subtle minerale whisper. The palate is bright and zesty with mouth-watering citrus and a huge favourite whenever we feature this stunning wine from North West Italy.
Young fresh vinho verde from Portugal but made 100% from Alvarinho grapes (or Albariño if they were grown over the border in Spain). Bright citrus aromas, lively palate of lime and stone fruits. A soft, appealing wine with mineral freshness. The favourite wine from our Dirty Dancing with Wine event.

Reign of Fire
Is it Summer without a Barbecue? Here's my shortlist of perfect wines for fire and charcoal.
Velvety-smooth and fruity, this is possibly the most popular wine from our events and one of Majestic wines most popular drops. Stefano Chioccioli uses appassimento method. After picking, grapes are left to dry in the warm sun, adding richness and intensity. Concentrated flavours of cherry, damson and blackcurrant.
Solonomar Romanian Blend, Romania - Majestic £11.50 (£9.50 in a mixed case of six)
A blend of Cabernet, Merlot and the indigenous Feteasca Neagra grape made by one of the country's very best wineries. It's full-bodied and rich with notes of blackcurrant, plum, blueberry and vanilla. In 2022, this wine won an IWC award for the 2020 vintage. We use this wine every year at some point for Halloween as it's so popular.
Fruity Shiraz in a cooler-climate style (think Northern Rhone) has concentrated mulberry and black pepper notes combined with soft plummy fruit flavours, and smooth, savoury tannins. This was very popular as our, bold red, across our 2025 Christmas events, but Shiraz and barbecue are truly a match made in heaven.
