Our Tour of Europe Wines

Incredible value from Aldi, it’s Brut, like most Champagnes so dry, its non-vintage so blend of years. Notes of citrus, apple, and a hint of toast. A simple and enjoyable Champagne produced by Grands Comptoirs Champenois, a negociant Champagne firm who buy grapes and wines from across the region blending them to make a consistent house style.

Probably my favourite Italian white wine. DOCG Piemonte on the West Coast, at the 'foot of the mountain'. Single estate Gavi, produced from a specific vineyard on the estate. South facing, chalky, mineral soil, allows grapes to ripen and make the wine so distinctive.

White flowers, apple, lime and pear on the nose. Juicy apple with lemon, lime and peachy crisp freshness on the palate.

Drinks Business Gold Medal Winner. Delicate, copper coloured Rosato. Pinot Grigio makes white wine, so how is this pink? It's 100% Pinot Grigio so no red in the blend, the colour comes from the mottled green and pink skin. Vallagarina Valley’s continental climate and calcium soils help to produce this elegantly fresh and crisp wine.

On the nose, floral and peach. In the mouth juicy orchard fruits, redcurrant, and zesty citrus.

Maison Loron have been making wine since 1711 and always produce wine of great character. All red Beaujolais is made from the gamay grape, with 99% of all Beaujolais production being red.

Famously light wines, Beaujolais is bigger than every other Burgundy appellation.

This elegant wine offers raspberry and strawberry notes with a refreshing acidity.

Spain's most famous wine, Rioja. Famed for bold, juicy beds, this region in northern central Spain runs along the Ebro river, protected by the Sierra Cantabria mountains.

85% of all production is red wines raning from youthful bright and juicy to bold, powerful and spicy. This is a Reserva wine, made entirely from Tempranillo grapes sourced from across the region. The wine is aged for two years in American oak barrels before resting for another year in the bottle. This full bodied wine from M&S is highly rated and great value for the price, offering notes of cherry, liquorice, vanilla and spice.

Wiese & Krohn founded in 1865 by two Norwegians - Theodor Wiese and Dankert Krohn.

Tawny-red in colour with aromas of caramel, butterscotch, currants and spice. The palate is sweet and smooth with rich red fruits and a nutty character.
